Making a living online has never been more achievable. Finding your tribe is the prize. In late 2019, I started a journey down the Twitter rabbit hole and I have not found the bottom. Truth be told, I don't want to. It is time to immerse myself in the Twittersphere.
The race has begun
When I discovered my first tribe, FinTwit or financial Twitter, I became addicted. TrendSpider, the software I use for technical analysis, became my first big tribe. They gave off cool aesthetic vibes that spoke to my inner chartist. I often tweet about the “art of the chart”.
TrendSpider poked my passions in all the right ways and injected me into the world of finance. Once I found this tribe, the rest felt natural. I engaged. I answered questions, took requests, and made myself available to anyone who needed help. Most of my requests came from followers who were looking to see the latest daily chart on a stock. That's my wheelhouse.
I hacked my audience growth by educating them, day by day. My engagement was steadily climbing. When followers asked good questions, I gave them great answers. I listened and delivered them an abundance of quality. My growth gained steam, I went from 90 to 3500 followers in a matter of 3 months. Giddyup.
I'm setting a good pace.
At this point, I knew I needed to take the next steps thoughtfully. My message was resonating with the tribe and I needed to craft a tighter, stronger message. I doubled down, figured out what resonated most, and delivered more. It was time to pick up the pace.
I hooked up my knowledge IV and started consuming everything related to growing a Twitter audience. My pace quickened. I devoured YouTube videos, Twitter threads, Kindle books, physical books, paid courses, free courses, and anything else I could get my hands on. The only way I know how to learn is through full immersion. 3 months later, 7000 followers. Yeehaw!
The learning leg was complete.
I felt like I had a framework for growth that would set me up for success. I started a trading service with two other like-minded Twitterpreneur's and Our Trading Edge was born. Once this was up and running, I had a few knowledge-hungry members reach out and ask about private one-on-one lessons. My first two students were a smashing success, I still get text messages about how I changed their lives. 10K was coming fast.
I quickly realized I was becoming an "influencer". Followers were direct messaging (DM) me, asking if I would take them on as a mentor. I crafted a course framework to standardize my teaching, opened up my calendar, and took on more students.
I found my stride
In just a short 18 months, I sprinted to 17.5K followers. It’s gratifying to make a living online while simultaneously changing people’s lives. I’m living out my Twitterpreur's dream.
Update! Just six weeks later, pushing 25k. I’m sprinting again.
I love this path and hope to take a similar one myself. Thank for sharing your roadmap.
